A two-bedroom house in one of the London's' most prestigious mews has been put up for sale.

Holland Park Mews features picture-perfect properties with a quintessential London look dating back to the 1860s.

Holland Park Mews in West London comprises 67 mews houses, the majority of which are Grade II listed. The one that has just gone up for sale has a price tag of £2.35million and is being marketed by the estate agent Maskells.

The homes were first built as stables to serve the large mansion houses that line Holland Park, but today they are home to a much more well-heeled clientele.

Entered via an engraved arch, also Grade II listed, with a cobbled road through its centre, Holland Park Mews was once described as a 'very ritzy mews' by the Pevsner Architectural Guides and a 'cathedral among mews' by architectural critic Ian Nairn.

The mews appeared in two hit movies of the 1960s, Crossplot (1969) starring Roger Moore and Corruption (1968) starring Peter Cushing.

The home that is up for sale features exposed brickwork across the open-plan living, dining and kitchen space on the first floor, providing a warehouse-style look.

There is also a study on the first floor complete with bespoke book shelving, which could be useful for home working or as an additional bedroom. In total, the property spans 1,303 sq ft.

It has two bedrooms, a garage and a bathroom located on the ground floor.

The bathrooms are finished in a contemporary style with modern fittings and striking architectural lines.

Unusually for London, the property has an integrated private garage, providing secure parking and additional storage space.

Jamie Hope, managing director of sales at Maskells, told This is Money: 'Holland Park Mews is one of the most sought-after mews in London.

'Steeped in history and offering the perfect balance between a tranquil setting and being a stone's throw from excellent transport links, world-class amenities and of course, Holland Park itself, it is the ultimate statement address.'

The house is in council tax band H, the highest property valuation band in England and Wales.
