A trip to Soho Beach House in Miami led to the owners of this truly unique family home to commission Martin Brudnizki who, including Soho Beach House, also designed the Ivy Chelsea Garden, Sexy Fish and Cecconi’s Miami Beach, to build their dream home in the heart of Knightsbridge.
FULLDESCRIPTION The Design Concept they came up with was a "Hampton's style as seen through a Londoner's eyes". The results are impressive: The open plan ground floor is warm and welcoming, where family can enjoy time together or where guests can gather around the stunning kitchen or relax in the reception space, in the knowledge that everyone is involved in any discussion. Being a family home, the kitchen enjoys two dishwashers, two fridges, with all appliances being supplied by Gaggenau.
The hub-bub of the ground floor is left behind on the first and second floors where the family bedrooms are located. Dressed in Quentin Blake wall paper and with built in bunks (for amazing sleepovers), sound isolating doors and black out blinds this children's oasis is second to none. The study (which also acts as a smaller TV Room) is right next door. The Master has ample storage space in a bespoke dressing area with a large bathroom en-suite. Design touches such as handbag hooks cupboards just for shoes show the detail that has been considered. A small roof terrace with a fridge does provide for a quiet area to enjoy a romantic evening.
Of course being a family house, the needs of the children are key so in the lower ground floor there is a huge playroom, with lots of storage, a further bedroom, bathroom and a large utility room with two Miele washing machines and 2 Miele tumble dryers. The Basement features a gym, a staff area (bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom) and ample storage.
Naturally the home comes with the latest audio visual technology and, unusual for London, air conditioning to all floors. The house is equidistant between Harrods and Sloane Square and is surrounded by excellent local schools. Energy rating C.
